I was honored to represent the City of brea, Cultured Arts Commission and Arts in Public Places Committee at the OC Arts Council annual awards dinner. The mosaic artistry of Marlo Bartell is evident throughout the Blackstone neighborhoods. A fitting award for the artist, the city, and the developer.

I was honored to be Chair of the Brea Cultural Arts Commission. While on the Commission I served on the Curtis Theatre committee and Arts in Public Places committee.

I've always sensed the need to remember the past. When opportunity to purchase a home in the Union Oil Neighborhood... It was ideal. Over the years the home has been completely restored. It is now on the Brea Register of Historical Landmarks. The Willy and Margaret Lance House 1922

Boys and Girls Clubhouse My first foray into civic affairs was working closely with neighbors, City Council and City Staff to insure neighborhood concerns were addressed with the construction of the Brea Boys and Girls Club City Resolution 03-11 section 2 addresses neighborhood traffic concerns.

I was glad to provide some leadership when our neighborhood was being "developed" from every side. With the help of many neighbors we were able to bring awareness to the value of preserving a piece of "old brea" in the Union Oil Neighborhood. I got my mug in the register for some reason!

The editors of the Register got it right in November of 2004. The CIM project was a TURKEY! I'm proud to say that it was the Union Oil Neighborhood.... Not city staff that ended plans by the CIM group to build a 5 story apartment complex on the corner of Brea Blvd and Elm Street adjacent to City Hall Park. A group of neighbors went directly to the notorious CIM group chair - Mr. Shaul Cuba and let him know his monstrosity was not welcomed in the Union Oil Neighborhood. He bowed out. South Brea Lofts style mixed used is much more compatible with the single family home neighborhoods all around.

I participated in a Tap Dance group - The Snappy Tappers - through Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Cal State Fullerton. Performing at Senior Centers, Nursing Homes, and Civic gatherings. I'm the little guy with the white band around my hat!

Being a DJ... And a Senior is a good combo. Here I am playing for the St. Patricks Day luncheon at the Brea Senior Center
